From Bristol with Love, to Ukraine

After celebrating our win in the euros, my attention was moved to whether, when, and where, myself and Bro Paul Wootten can watch the quarter finals against Switzerland!

We are on a tight schedule to meet our Ukrainian Brothers. Hauling 34 generators and a drone (thank you Moira lodge). Pedal to the metal shall be applied and we WILL watch the game in some random German bar, I'm sure.

Brethren, we will keep you updated with our progress. This is your last chance to help and donate to the cost of our trip at the link provided.

We have already been told that those generators will be going directly to the front line, to the town of Kharkiv.

Thank you for all your support and if any of you can help loading our van on Saturday morning at 9.30am in southmead please message me. MiCs need not apply (I understand)

Thanks again, Si and Paul

England Vs Slovenia, 25th June 2024

Having been some time since we've had an official Dunckerleys get-together, I was really looking forward to getting to the pub, having some beers with some Brethren and enjoying cheering on a dominant England, thrashing Slovenia in the final group game of the competition!

Well, as Meatloaf said, 'two outta three aint bad...'

We'd all agreed to meet at the Bank Tavern any time after 6. I got there shortly after 6pm and was met by Chris who'd been enjoying a beer in the garden, chatting away to some friendly regulars. I'd no sooner sat down with Chris when Marco and Dar arrived, shortly followed by Graham, Sam and Charlie and finally Adam, Kas and Abram also joined us. (The lesser spotted Hendo was also spotted in his natural habitat. i.e. a pub)

Sam, being the landlord, had kindly reserved us a couple of tables where we could all crowd around and have a good catch up before the game. At half time Sam popped off and re-appeared with Pizza for all. On the condition that we all pay Charlie the crust tax :)

The game had been pretty woeful til now and looked like it was only going to get worse so attention gradually returned to the table and a babble of chatter returned. A few Brethren had to slip off early but a handful of us hung on until kickout, when we ambled up to St Nicks for a nightcap in the Crown.

All in all a great night, great company, and thanks again to Sam and Charlie for their excellent hospitality and continued generosity!

We'll, no doubt, return to the Bank for the next game, so keep an eye out for the email!

Here's to the next one!

Pete.
